Meet up and connect with your musical community!

 

Join Avery Fisher Career Grant Winner, Dr. Igor Begelman in this series that  will focus on the history of the orchestra.

Its formation, development, and current state demonstrated by the defining works from corresponding time periods.

We will also discuss the various instrumental families and their members that make up the orchestra, focusing on
some of them. The obvious one is the violin representing the strings, and the less expected saxophone, representing
the woodwind family. There will also be many surprises so come and join us on this exciting journey through time to
learn something new about the history of music and musical  instruments.
